after hooking up your xbox to your router and connecting to it with an ftp, if i want to play movies on my xbox (xvid movies), which folder do i put them in? and will i be able to play them with mxm after?

Install XBOX Media Center on your xbox and put the movies whereever you want on your xbox, or play them off your network with XBMC (XBOX Media Center)...
there is not really a need for xvid support in mxm with all the functionality of xbmc...
