I bought the Xecuter 2.6 CE for my v 1.6 xbox. I am having a hell of a time flashing the damn thing. So i decided to turn the mod chip off and use it normally. Well, it turns on and a screen comes up saying "service required." I hope maybe I just forgot something...but who knows. Let me know what you think..

The only advice I have is to check your soldering.

Hopefully there should be an error code too...couple help...just a little...

I checked my soldering, i redid d0 just to be safe. The screen says:

05 Service Required. Call Customer Service.

Which is not something I'm too willing to do.

Did you try looking up that error code in google maybe you'll find someone who has seen it knows what it is.

05 Kernel HDD not locked (retail bios requires the HDD to be locked)

you need to lock the hard drive to be able to use the msdash

How do u lock the hard drive back?
I messed up and unlocked it then tryed to install slayers now i get the 05 kernel hdd not locked.How would i lock it back?

You can lock it again through slayers. Just boot with chip on and slayers in and re-lock. Not sure where it is on the cd, have a look.
