Scenyx Entertainment Community > Xbox1 Forums > Hardware Forums > Xbox Backup Forum - DVD/CD Burning / ISO extraction & creation / Hard Drive Backups

I read the tutorials on making backups. I understand that it is necessary to direct rip an original to hd then make an iso for burning a backup. But when I am making a multi game backup (several games on one dvd-r) do I still need to make isos of the the games I want to backup?

I ask because of my ignorance of iso files and godsins tutorial (xbox-scene tutorial) on making multi game backup calls for extracting the isos of xbox games desired for the multi game backup before burning.

It seems I can save step.

You just need to extract the ISO image of the games you want into the MenuX Iso folder. Make sure to extract them into their own separate folders inside of the MenuX "ISO" folder.
You don't need to make them back into ISO's again. If you burn with RecordNow, it will make your multi-game disc easily for you.
Here's burning instructions for RecordNow from another tutorial:
For RecordNowMax:
Put a Blank DVD-RRW in DVD-RW Burner Drive.
Open RecordNowMax
Select "DATA".
For "Volume Label" put whatever you like.
Click "Add Files And Folders".
Locate "ISO" dir in MenuX, where you placed your game folders.
Open ISO Dir.
Add Everything that is in the "ISO" dir, including all your game folders.
Click "Options".
For File System Type, choose "UDF - Up to 128 in filename length, any char., plus 8+3 tree (Bridge)".
Click "OK".
Burn on 1X.
Choose you DVD-RW Burner Drive.
Click Red Circled Button.
DONE!
