I believe that these are the correct instructions for the IR-mod: Instructions from BMMods (the actual one was from divineo)

I also have 3 MS remotes (no dongles) that I will let go for $5/each
(the IR-mod requires the MS remote)

I have either a 1.4 or 1.5 box ( my chip said focus, so i think thats what I have). would the chameleon chip work for it??? and is the chameleon chip any good?? due to my lack of knowledge, well, i dont know... does it do all the things normal modchips do? lol i might be interested if shipping isnt to much, ive got almost exactly what your asking for it

I never had a single issue with the Chameleon, I just upgraded to a 4th Gen chip (X3).

A LOT of people on this site just use X2 4981 bios which is fully customizable in XBtool. I'm 98% sure that this bios is currently set to boot to C:\evoxdash.xbe

This chip is flashable in EvoX and you can also disable the chip (Xbox will reboot w/ chip off)

It does not have LCDs or some of the features of the 4gen chips, but it is a great inexpensive chip to mod your box.

basically i want to be able to open up the chip, open my box, hook up the chip (no soldering ) turn my xbox on, and its all good. but i have a feeling it wont go the=at way, nothing ever does. i will want evox on mine, will i have to do a lot of technical crap to do that? and linux?

tell you what. Later this week (will be getting a customer's xbox in) I can re-flash this chip with any bios you want. (I think a stock X2 4981 would be great tho, live blocking and customizeable) And I can also send an Auto-Installer DVD (Slayers 2.6 or any of the newer ones, DVD so it should work in your drive) with the Chip. I'll also include an EvoX config.ini that will include all the Chameleon Code.

That really should make it as harmless as possible. Screw in adapter, push on chip, turn on and put in DVD

I'm 99% sure that they will NOT work on a 1.6 Also I have just promised the Chameleon to a friend.

Still have tons of stock HDs tho.... get back on live with a stock drive and no worries.
