If you don't ground D0 with the chip it wont boot the mod.
bigpopaz69
ill try grounding the D0 thanks
jameswalter
There should be a spot for the chip to be connected to the D0 point.
bigpopaz69
ya their is a D0 BT L1 L2 have them all solder in the correct spots on the board and on the chip would an extra ground from the D0 on the chip to a screw hole help ???
jameswalter
Go over your pin header again one more time to make sure all the points are connected.

Make sure your points look good like the picture below points out.

yup the chip is facing that way and i just soldered the d0 on the bottom had it on the top kinda byc6d4

still the same thing blinks red yellow then it turns on green loads reg x box dash board have to put the date in every time
jameswalter
You have to put in the date if the motherboard loses power. I think the capacitor is on the power supply that holds the time...and not for very long either. Does the box work normally if you remove the chip and try to boot?
bigpopaz69
works like oem when the chip is removed no flashing lights
bigpopaz69
i would reprogram the chip but the aladdin soft ware wont find the chip i have the lpt usb programer any other program work to program this chip ??? any ideas or links im really starting to think the chip is messed up
jameswalter
I'm starting to think the same...if the flash software won't find it it sounds like a chip issue...this is the first issue I have heard of that the problem wasn't the installation though.
bigpopaz69
these chips are clones is their any other software i could use to try to program it the aladdin software wont work im new to this first x box mod lots of pc and eletronic experience though

If your installing clones you do have a bad chip. Clones pretty much never work...get a real chip and see if it works. You should be able to get your money back from wherever you bought the clones from if you didn't know they were clones at the time.
bigpopaz69
i got it xmods.com nope doesnt say their clones in their add but after a lil research yup their clones the gold solder pad ones are not mines sliver pads
bigpopaz69
that site was in france where do u recomend i get another chip from and witch one i wanna use xbox live
jameswalter
Personally the Xenium ICE and X3 are my favs cause they offer a lot of options and expandability but they are more expensive. The ICE is nice because there are no external DIP switches and a different bios can be selected with the eject button. The quick solder option is also very nice for the ICE. If your looking for cheap just get a real Aladdin Live from in the States.

Any of the site sponsors off the main page work well...I have bought from bmmods.com and found them to be very quick.
bigpopaz69
i think im gonna go with the smartxx v2le looks sweet was looking @ it @bmmods wished i knew about that site before thanks for all yer help hopefully i can get my money back but i dont think i will

If you paid with credit card you can claim fraud. Call them up and tell them the situation (not exactly) but tell them you bought these things from them that weren't what was specified and they won't respond to your emails for trying to return them.
