Hey, i installed the aladdin live into a 1.4 with all the wires as shown in the diagram, when i try to boot it tries 3 times and then frags half flashing orange and half solid green. when i remove the mod off of the header pin all is fine, the light comes on the mod chip so it is working. Any ideas?

well...the SAL's are quite a problematic chip...could be that.

my other guess is a bad bios...show me some pics of the install...as well as check for solder splashes

My guess is a bad install. the LED is half and half as well as the other problems which means damage to the L1 point.
I would go through all your connections again with a large magnifier looking for bad soldering and shorts accross pins etc You will also need to repair the damage to the L1 point as even when you get the chip working you will have a half and half LED
