I have a Chipped xbox with a 120 gig hd, and an older xbox which i plan to resore and modify chiplessly. I was planning on chiplessly modding the second xbox with the standard 8 gig hd. After I complete the modification, I was wondering if it was possible to swap the 120 gig and 8 gig hd. I plan on putting the second xbox into a clear case with lighting effects, so I really would like to put the 120 gig hard drive in the second xbox. So would it be possible to just swap the drives? Thanks.

depends on what you mean by "chiplessly modding"
do you mean tsop flash or softmod?
Tsop=yes, if they are both unlocked
softmod=no, the softmod is applied to the HD, so that would defeat the purpose. It is still possible, but not a simple swap.

Yes, I am sorry, I was referring to a Softmod.
Would it be possible to softmod the 8 gig hard drive, then put that into the chipped xbox? Would it be compatible with the chip that way? If so, I could softmod the 8 gig one, put it in the old xbox, and then softmod the 120 gig and leave that in the second xbox.
