alright i cannot, for the life of me, flash my x3 chip

1.6 xbox
x3 chip

i turn the xbox on flashbios v3.0.1 comes up

it cannot read my hdd, i plugged in my new hdd because it cannot read the old and in the bios tutorials i have looked at everyone has an aftermarket hdd installed, so it boots up, i have an option of how i want to flash yadda yadda

by disc -

i have burned on a princo dvd-r and a memorex cdrw with no luck, 1959 x31.6plus bios with a 100mb dummy file, it loads the disc and is STUCK at the "cd-rom label"

im given fall back 192.168.0.99

with http i cannot get a connection it is either refused or times out, ive used mozilla firefox and netscape with no luck, my crossover cable is plugged in, the computer reads the connection, the light on the xbox blinks... i cannot successfully get ie to run yet, does not pass windows logo thing, ahh is ie going to solve my problem?!

with ftp my connection is refused by flashfxp or times out, no luck here either

and i have no idea how i would put something on the hdd to flash from it, so what do i do>?

Are you sure you don't have a 1.6b XBOX?

If so, then you have to play around with the switch settings OR you have to send ti bakc to the retailer and have them flash it with 3.0.3 flashbios.

And why did you take out your old HDD? Put that back in and make sure everything is plugged in, IDE cables, power, everything. Also, make sure you plugged your fan, the controller ports, and everything else.

I had exactly the same problem with my X2.6ce an v1.6a. Turns out, when I used IE6 it worked. For some reason, I couldn't network flash using Firefox 1.0. Don't know why but hopefully this helps someone else out.
