ok i have a 1.4 xbox the problem is when you put a game in the light blinks all the time it will play the game fine but if you change games you have to turn off the xbox and turn it back on with the game in it in order for it to play it

heres the stuff i have done to try to fix this problem
1. swapped dvd drives didnt work
2. swapped the yellow power cable and the ide cable didnt work
3. changed eeprom didnt work
4. did a TSOP flash with xecuter 4981 bios didnt work

i think its something wrong with the motherboard but i dont know what would make it do this

i have tried everything i can think of nothing will fix it so if anyone has an idea let me know and i will try it
Golbez
try deleting the contents of e:/cache
marlboroa
ok i deleted e:/cache didnt work

i also rebuilt and reformatted the hard drive with slayers a couple weeks ago and that didnt help either

im also having sort of the same problem as you except if i turn on the xbox, then put a game in, it wont play the game and the light keeps blinking. so the only way to boot a game is to turn it onwith the game in the dvd drive. heres my thread: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=349337

thats what mine does but it will play the game the first time then if you press eject it take a while to open and if you put the game back in it wont play you have to reboot it

mine also takes about 5 seconds to turn off
mukki

basso4735
anyone please????? sad.gif

this happens because the bios makers had to edit the bios to not crash to the dashboard when you eject the disc... try doing an igr... that usually works
basso4735
well, this xbox of mine isnt modded yet. still waiting for a chip.
marlboroa
mine was not modded either when it started but since then i have softmodded it,
then put a 2.3 in it, then i did a tsop flash with 4981 bios cause i needed to put my chip back in my other xbox i have changed all the cables, rebuilt the hard drive, swapped dvd drives and the only thing good that came out of it all was now i have a blue start up screen cause i used color modded bios i got to admint i like it better then the green

typically when you have a problem like that you swap out one thing at a time until it stop showing the problematic symptoms.

it's sounds like you've swapped out just about everything... have you tried swapping out the mobo? the PSU?

When you swap out the mobo try putting the mobo from the bad xbox into one that you know works... if the problem goes with it you know where to consentrate your efforts.

this might sound really stupid but my old V1.0 Xbox will flat out not boot from the modchip if the power cable isn't plugged-in in a certain direction. (ie try unplugging the cable from the Xbox rotate it 180deg and plug it back in)
basso4735
well, basicaly i have tried everything else. the phillips works fine on my regular modded 1.6, so i dont know what it could be.
marlboroa
i have swapped everything but the motherboard so im pretty sure thats what it is
i just want to know what on it would make it do this
marlboroa
