I have a v1.6 xbox with an Xecuter 2.6 CE mod chip. My mod chip is installed but when I went to put a new bios on the chip in bank one, everything was going fine or so I thought now bank one frags. When switched to bank 2 I tried to flash the bios but nothing really happens. It "flashes" then when i boot up it goes to the flash bios 3.0.3 screen. can anyone help me? I'm trying to install M8Plus16 on my chip

if you have a 1.6 and not a 1.6b then most people have been having luck with m8_16 on bank 2 (not m8_16+) and flashbios 3.0.1 on bank 1 - 512 images of each

Hmm when did the 1.6b come out perhaps mine is a b. Is tehre anything I can do about the frag i have on bank one?

Is your box a total frag? Or will it boot backups, but just not launch apps from the dash?

If the latter, you can make a FlashX bootdisc, boot it, and flash whichever bank you want (as you have an Xecuter chip).

Or, hell, if you can boot backups, then you can boot Slayers. Boot that, FTP in and put the bios you need into C:\BIOS.

You can turn on the box to bank one (provided it boots to Evox), flip the switch to bank two (while the box is still on), and flash bank two with the proper bios using Evox (make sure you resize it to 512kb using X2 Bios Manager just to be safe.)

BUT, if you do have a v1.6b box (re: the RAM chips say Hynix instead of Samsung), then the above will be useless.

Bank one is a frag, with the chip off it boots up fine. Only dash on it is the original M$ dash since I cant get the bios to fire up
