I have spent a fair amount of time in forums and googling but all I seem go get is more questions, maybe someone here can help sort things out.

I wish to softmod my xbox and this is what I know:

- I need something that works with PAL.
- I have a v.1.1 xbox with 4817.
- I cant update my xbox though xbox-live.
- I need to do a hotswap.

I think UXE is what I need but how do I do it with a hotswap?
And is this waffletools usefull with hotswapping?

And yes ... I am a newbee.

There might be an easier way since I don't pay much attention to new and improved autoinstallers, but all you need to do is put the needed files on your xboxhdm cd and install UXE manually..
All you need are:
update.xbe from 4920.17cdc100 (replaces xboxdash.xbe)
UXE fonts
Habibi signed kernel patcher
Dash of your choice.. (Evox recommended to start)

The update.xbe can be created with various patchers if you can't find it.. That is all the files you need to manually install a minimal UXE setup.. Adding stuff can then be done through ftp
