just wondering if anyone knows the name of a simple media app that plays dvds that have been backed up to my xbox hd?

i installed xbmc but it only lets me play the backed up dvds manually & i have to keep going to to the next .vob file to watch the whole movie... really annoying!!

i want something that will play the dvd stored on my hd as tho it was on a dvd disc so that it starts with the dvd menu!!

any help would be awesome...

thanks

XBMC is the only option and as yet it doesnt support DVD menus. There are no programs that will for the xbox. Convert them to Xvid and save space works great with XBMC.

I could have sworn this exact same question was asked a day or 2 ago.....

It was (three times this week, really). rolleyes.gif

XBMC won't support menus, but you can enable Stacking in the My Videos menu to stack the VOBs onto the main IFO file, and play them mostly seemlessly. That's your best (and only) bet.

If you can stack, get a newer version of XBMC that has stacking implemeneted. Cheaper than buying a DVD burner... wink.gif

But, I agree with ItchyB, converting to AVI using DivX (or Xvid or 3ivx if you're smart wink.gif) so save space it the way to go.

Go to www.doom9.org for more info on conversion.
