I installed an LCD-MOD yesterday and its not working too well with the chameleon. The LCD initialises itself OK ( it clears the screen ), but from then on i only get junk characters on the screen.

Has anyone else got the LCD-MOD working with this chip?

I am running xecuter2 bios, use smartXX setting in XBMC and avalaunch, and have the 4x20 LCD installed using the 4 bit parallel solder pads.

Verify all wires to/from LCD. Garbaled data usually signifies wrong wiring or cross talk on wires, make sure none are crossed and all equall lengths to from LCD.

Check your LCD's pin outs on its manufacturesr website and match to the LCD-MOD pin outs. Sometiems vendors change order for specific needs.

I have since installed an aladdin with LCD support and it worked first go, using the same wiring scheme and wires, which tells me that the LCD-MOD didnt work properly.

were you able to send the lcd-mod back? i thought it was supposed to work with any mod chip.

which alladin chip did you go with? i thought there wasn't xbmc support for alladin yet.

Maybe it was a connection issues with chameleon to LDC-Mod ( aka header )
