Just wondering which wire you connect to on a ata133 cable to still use the hard drive activity led mod. i have the standard ata100 cable in there now and i have connected to pin 39. Has anyone done this? This is the tut that i used, Adding a blinking HDD-LED to the Xbox

What I would do is just solder the point for the HDD LED on the bottom of the motherboard, then you can change the IDE cable as much as you like without worring about it. The pic is from the X3 install guide and shows the point for the HD LED.

ok it really not that hard open up your xbox remove the motherboard and flip it over and that part of the mobo will be lefthand side (if your facing the xbox). Then find the points and solder a wire to them. Hook that to the led then ground it and your in business.

oh ya just cut the wire from the ata cable and solder it to the point on the mobo and the light will still work.
