Full Version: Fix for Nforce AMD64 motherboards breaking Qwix
Scenyx Entertainment Community > Xbox1 Forums > Dashboard Forums > Official Avalaunch + Qwix Forum > Official Qwix Forum
sup191
If you have an Nforce3 board and are using the build in LAN, this should (hopefully) fix your problem:

1: Goto "Start" > "Control Panel".
2: Double click to open "Network Connections".
3: Right click on your network adapter and go to properties (should be labeled as "NVIDIA nForce Ethernet Controller").
4: Click on "Configure" and go to the "Advanced" tab.
5: Select "Checksum Offload" and choose disable in the window to the right.
6: Click on Ok.

I don't know if this works on other Nforce MB's or not, but it DID finally let my Qwix transfer ISO's again. It also let my remote access program connect again which had stopped working when I upgraded to the Athlon 64. Hopefully this will help a few others out there fix theie problems.

If this has already been discussed, I apoligize. I'm too lazy to search at the moment... tongue.gif

Just wanted to add that this fix worked for my DFI Lanparty Nforce4 Ultra-D motherboard.

It's working great now. Thanks for the fix. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the tip.

I also had to disable flow control to get it to work.

This tip also increased ftp speeds with other clients. Finally FlashFXP is acting like it used to again! If you have this adapter defininately follow this advice.

Thank you!

This tip actually works on NONE-Nforce AMD64 system.
I running a P4+Abit MAX3, Qwix worked couple times before.
I got the FTP freeze problem last week.
As soon as I DISABLE the "Offload Transmit TCP Checksum", Qwix's FTP works again.
Thank you.

I am using a Dell Inspiron 8300 (P4 with an intel nic) I don't have a Checksum option however Qwix will not install a game from an ISO. it won't even start. It just stays there thinking for at least an hour (I killed it from CTRL-ALT-DEL at that point). Any ideas?

Could anyone of you get some screenshots of this since i use a Swedish XP and i cant find this "5: Select "Checksum Offload" and choose disable in the window to the right." - anywere.

Thanks.

I am new to the x-box scene. I had the same problem as described here. I tried all of the fixes here with no results. I finally got it to work after many tries. After it worked I noticed my internet connection would not work. I had to reset my linksys wireless ap to get on the net again. After this quix would freeze again. I then unplugged my wan port on the wireless ap and once again quix would transfer. I have some kind of problem with my ap.

Geezus, This saved me from doing a reformat, I cant thank you enough. THANKS!!

Come to find out......I think when I updated the firmware in my Linksys router is when Quix began working!

Just want to say thanks for the fix. I also had to disable segmentation offload, but now it flies like it used to. smile.gif

Hello,

I just got a new computer featuring a MSI 945G Neo. The ethernet controler is Intel PRO/1000.

I have the same problem with qwix, I can browse my games and delete them but if I want to upload a game to the xbox, I get stuck at 0% then the ftp on avalaunch is not responding.

I have a french version of windows xp and I can't find the "checksum offload" anyone knows if it is specific to the nforce driver?

Does anyone experienced the same problem with an intel NIC?

Could someone post a screenshot of the configuration please?

Thanks,

Mini-ATX Nforce 4 AMD 64 Built in Gigabit Lan- THIS ALSO WORKED FOR ME!!!! Thanks man. I spent no less than 4 hours on this issue until I found your post. Now I have to find out what the similar settings are on my wireless AMD 64 Laptop.

It was incredible thoughtful of you to post this, cheers.

This is going to sound silly, but the fix only worked for a little bit and now it no longer is working for me. I did come across one fix that works on ALL of my PCs regardless.

I downloaded and installed an old version of Avalaunch (49.04). Believe it or not, the FTP between Xboxes and Qwix works flawlessly regardless of PCs. In fact, for the first time I was able to copy Project Gotham to and from my PC.

I have tried just about everything else including eliminating some of my switches from the connection so that all of my PCs and Xboxes were connected directly to the same switch. I changed all the settings as outlined in this thread. I set the throughput to fixed 10MB then 100MB. I tried making Avalaunch a primary Dashboard, went back to an old X2 BIOS and even reverting back to auo DHCP. BTW, I tried this on 3 different Xboxes that are 3 different versions and different Hard Drives.

The only thing that is consistently working for me to eliminate the Avalaunch and Qwix upload problem or issue was to downgrade to Avalaunch 49.04.

Thanks,
Howard

Thanks a million I am using an ASUS P5LD2 onboard lan and it worked like a charm.

Worked for me too (Nforce 4 Sli)

Did all 3/4 options mentioned here at the same time though, not sure which one did the trick
apathyactivist
I'm not sure if my problem is related to this or something different.

Qwix hangs at 0% when I try an upload an .iso to the xbox.
I have an MSI nForce2 motherboard.
I'm using the onboard NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller.
I'm using a Belkin router.

When I try and use the fix provided here, I don't have the option to:
"Select "Checksum Offload" and choose disable in the window to the right."
There's no such option there.

Any hints?

Or, if not, are there any other programs that someone could suggest as an alternative to Qwix?

(first post -- but I've been lurking the xbox-scene for a while now. I've modded my own and a few other xboxs thanks to all the great tutorials and helpful threads here.)
Devenic
apathyactivist, are you using Avalaunch with Qwix? Also, do you have multiple network adapters in your machine? What router are you using? etc.
apathyactivist
Thanks for the reply, Devenic.

I only have one Ethernet adapter, the on-board nForce adapter. (Mobo is MSI K7N2)
I'm using a Belkin FSD5230-4 4-port 10/100 router.
I'm not using Avalaunch, my Dash is Unleash-X.
My OS is Windows XP SP2, but the Windows Firewall is disabled. I don't have any other firewall.

To test a couple of things, you might try:
  • Using a different router (or no router at all with either a switch or a crossover cable)
  • Using Avalaunch to see if it has the same problem - I've never tested Qwix with UnleashX
  • Disabling all firewalls and virus software (this usually requires a reboot to fully close them)

Thanks for your help, Devenic. I loaded Avalaunch as an app, and Qwix worked fine. I didn't realize that Qwix was dependant on the dashboard. Although, in hindsight, I guess that'd make sense since they seem to share development.

Thanks Much!!! this has been really annoying

In case it helps someone else.
I am using a ABIT IC7-G and the onboard Intel PRO/1000CT

There are 4 different Checksum selections and all you need to do is disable one of them.
---------------
Follow the steps at the start of this thread and go into the Network Adapter Properties.
Find Offload Transmit IP Checksum
Change Value to Off
---------------

Worked great for me.

Worked like a dream for me! If only I'd looked here before wasting half of last night on it.

I'm really, really grateful, thanks!

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

The only thing that is consistently working for me to eliminate the Avalaunch and Qwix upload problem or issue was to downgrade to Avalaunch 49.04.

I tried everything else in this thread without any luck. I was about to give up when I noticed it was going to take 5 million years to upload everything, so I tried 49.04 and it end up being the one thing that worked for me. Thanks!

I am having the same problem as "apathyactivist"...i don't have the option either. Qwix is all I have ever used and now I can't get it to work...I've tried uninstalling 2X...no firewall...Qwix will browse my box, create an iso from the box, it just won't extract an iso to the box. It's been awhile since I've used it. I have updated my box with SID 5.01 and AID4.01. Could this be causing my problem? I use XBMC as a dash. I never had a problem using it in the past. I love using Qwix and would like to get it going again. I did try C-XBOX Tool and it worked flawlessy....but I would rather use Qwix..This is the first time I have tried to use Qwix since I did the updates. Any help with this problem would greatly be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

p.s. I have never used Avalaunch in the past. My hardware configuration is the same as it always has been. I hope I have provided enough info.
mikejobu

you upgraded XBMC.
