I think a few people who deleted all of their "informitive" posts (because they were disgruntled )should not effect the rest of the users on X-S. My opinion is that if someone wants to take the time to do that, screw them, we don't need their posts anyway...
I personally used the edit feature responsibly. I used the edit feature a lot in my installers post, to update pricing and services. In addition, I frequently would edit posts where I found a better way of saying something after I had already posted. Sometimes it took a few hours, and rather than posting again to artificially inflate my post count, I would just edit my previous post.
I PM'd a mod, as the pinned topic stated and found that only "guidewriters" are allowed edit. They are not granting sellers or shops "edit" permissions. I don't think that is in the best interest of X-S users. It is SO MUCH more effecient to maintain one post, than to keep updating with new posts. This means the user has to read the whole thread to find out what is going on, or what items are still available, instead of just looking at one post...
I have said this before, if it comes to it, I am willing to pay $ to X-S to have a premium" account. An account where my Search Engine always works, and where I can edit my own posts.
Ok, I've had my say. I'll move on now and hope the decision is eventually reversed
