I have modded a friends crystal xbox (v1.6 Samsung) with a Duo-X2. Bios booted successfuly and loaded Evox dash +3935. Everything seemed to be OK so I gave it back to him.
He later phoned me to say games are freezing with mod enabled/disabled.
I took it back and rebuilt the mod....still freezing....thought it might be a heat issue but the MCPX and CPU temps are fine.
I flashed the bios with Evox M8_16 and M8+_16 but still same problem.
I then replaced the DUO-X2 chip with another one...still same problem.
It also freezes in M$ dash especially when setting the time and in XBMC(V1.1) when navigating the menus.....even after a minute of being switched on.

I am playing a DVD just now (LOTR) with mod chip disabled and it's playing fine (over an hour).

I am really confused. Is it the mobo...maybe a memory issue...if so how do i fix it?

Hope someone can help.

cheers

I need to know whether I should take the mod out and put the xbox back to it's pre-mod state. The thing is I don't know if that will fix it if the mobo is damaged.

There are companies who repair xbox mobos. Should I send it to them?

I'm at the end of the line.....please someone help sad.gif

I've just rebuild the LPC for the THIRD time and still the same problem.
Funny...it never seems to lock in Evox dash but when I run XBMC (1.1) and navigate the menus it almost always freezes. When playing music (if i get that far before it freezes) I can never activate the Goom screen saver, when I try to it always freezes.

In the M$ dash (mod disabled) it almost always freezes when navigating the clock setup screen.

Does anyone know where I can buy a 1.6 mobo (United Kingdom)?

What's the 'new 5v'?
DuceGT
the 5v on the 1.6 is the red wire that u solder on top of the board
