Hey guys I have a thompson drive x-box I'm about to mad and I am questioning its ability to read different media. As of right now, its very picky and only sometimes loads burned movies (like it may work once but I try again with the same DVD it won't work) Once I mod my box, will that increase its readability of different types of media or is it gonna be the same. I ask this because I am thinking of trading my x-box with a friend who has the Samsung drive. Thanks!

modding your xbox will not produce any better results in the dvd-drive reading various media. check the link in my sig for compatible media for the thomsons

ritek g04 will work on 99% of working thomson and all drives.
tayio yudens (or however its spelled) are even a step up from those.
