I am looking to install and hdd activity light. I don't want the jewel to flash for activity I just want to hook it up to a single led. Is there a wire or something I can use on the ide cable to get the activity and power from. Also is there a ground on the ide cable. Is there a way to make an hdd activity light using just an led and the ide cable. Not using anything else on the Xbox at all.

Are the power cable on the ide cables different for each version xbox? Also is pin 39 what makes it flash and what not or is that the 3v on the ide cable?

although you are right for the most part...calm down...thats a pretty deeply affending phrase you just used.

as there arent very many 3v wires in the xbox... huh.gif find and use a 5v one (red wire from the molex connector) make sure to use a resistor correct for 5v

and yes...pin 39 is what makes the leds flash, it is only grounded when the HDD is in activity, thus HDD activity lights!

Okay, am currently cooling off, but how many times must questions like this be asked, and answered, asked again, and subsequently answered again? If you go back one page, you will find the thread he started LAST NIGHT, askin the SAME QUESTION!!!! C'mon now people, this ain't rocket science or brain surgery..... uhh.gif

BTW, it wasn't the fact that he asked this question twice in a 24 hour period, it's the fact that he completely disregarded any and all answers he got in his first thread, and started a second one... WTF??????? Am I to understand that if I, or anyone else, for that matter, were to ask a question, and several others took the time to answer that question with good, helpful information, it should just be blown off and I'll go start a new thread asking the same exact question.... Can you see where I'm coming from on this????

Yeah, posting simple questions, especially in multiple threads, before doing research for yourself will usually end up in 3rd dgree burns...

yea..I'm so fucking sick and tired of people not reading the FAQs and tutorials. It is like the people who wrote all that shit wasted their time dry.gif . I think nobody should answer a question when it has already been answered. I mean that is uber redundant. Even if it is a n00b, that doesnt limit his ability to check the FAQs or read the tuts

ok it is a lil much askin the same question in multi threads. but still guy if u ant saying any thing helpful Y waste ur time posting.
