Ok so my dad has this completely busted laptop (was the best 2 years ago) with a nice 15" LCD screen and I was wondering how I would be able to hook it up to my XBox, either using A/V cables or directly hooking it up...any help would be great, thanks in advance.

You should learn to use the search, if youve read enough posts by now and actually took notice you would realise this is not really possible, unless you have money to burn to buy a converter to produce the correct format for a laptop screen.

Now search and find out the rest and maybe you'll get the answer your looking for!!

it's long but alot of info on laptop monitors
weeman666
simple anwser is you cant do it if you had to ask if it could be done,
shooptek
yeah that has some good info but not really what i am looking for...i have heard about tut's on attaching laptops to xboxes but couldnt find anything

anything else?
TheMuffinMan
you've heard of there being no tutorials on the subject, because there aren't you can attach Hip Pad Screens, and Intec screens designed for consoles, but laptop scrreens require a controller to tell them what to do, it doesnt have a video in, like the others do
shooptek
oh ok...well i was looking through a forum a little while ago and someone mentioned something about using a laptop lcd...i guess i misunderstood.
TheMuffinMan
no worries, your best bet is the hip pad screen, OR a game screen 5.6" or 7" i'm trading my 5.6" to a friend who is putting it in his xbox , i think it's in an xbox case, and it's as simple as soldering some points beerchug.gif

AAAA!!!!!!! grr.gif 500000th noob post ive directed to the search or faq, please read or be flamed!
wicket_lfe
you can do it, the TUT is in the faq by mdfirefighter. Oh yeah, its also gonna cost u an arm and a leg. The guy who wrote the tut said u spend enough money on the controller boards that you may as well just buy a regular lcd. so if you want something to do, and have money to burn, go for it.

I can't believe this. How hard did you look? See on the top of the case-modding forum, it says:

"Case Modding Frequently Asked Questions [faq]"

Yeah. Click on that.

See the first link in that post? It says:

"*NEW* The Comprehensive LCD Screen FAQ *NEW*"

Yeah. Click on that.

Now I know it says "new" but if you scroll down, you will see that the post hasn't been edited since November.

Now I have to find out what resistor I need for my leds. Do you know how I'm going to do that? That's right... Check the FAQ.
