Full Version: Xbox Case Compatability

Are all of the xbox cases the same. If I were to buy an original black xbox case would it fit any version xbox. Will the motherboard power supply and all the parts out of any xbox fit into any xbox regarless of what version it is. Thanks for any help.

Vers 1-5 and Vers 6....two diff cases

They actually are different?...I don't think they are. I think the only things that are different is the hardware. The cases are the same.

im pretty sure they are different becuz i was looking at the 1.6 case and there were some different ground points.

i'm pretty sure they are exactly the same...i know for a fact that the placement of the mobo is the same in both but i can't be sure that the placement of the power supply is the same

they are different. Not by alot but they are different. If you put a 1.6 board in a 1.0 xbox case thier is one screw in the middle of the board that wont line up at all, you cant even put a screw in it.

yeah, and if you try to put a 1.6 mobo in a 1.0-1.5 case, you need to replace a transitor i think. so its kinda a big deal

Why would you need to replace a transistor? All you do it put it in a different case. You don't need to change anything on the MOBO.

Because when you put it in, it doesn't line up right and knocks it off.
