I'm customizing my Xbox since adding a Xecuter 3 CE and a 200GB Seagate. What apps do I want - which ones are must haves? So far I grabbed Evox, XBMC (although I can't figure out where to set the default "rip to" dir for MP3's...) got a couple of emulators, xbox copy etc.

What's next - what can I not live without wink.gif

Thanks,

Edit the following xboxmediacenter.xml tag:

<!-- Path where XBMC's CDDA Rips should be stored !-->
<!-- Note! This must point to an existing folder. !-->

Think the next best app would be dvd2xbox. What kinds of emulators did you get? If you haven't gotten MameoX or Surreal 64, get those.

Enter the UIX world, then go to the code section and you'll be hooked, there are hundreds of things you can do with that dash. And the next update looks awesome too.
If you want, you could try Linux, but only if you want. Get Avalaunch and all the other Dashboards and see which one you like best. HDD loader is a good software package and works well for game backing up. Have a look around and research, the possiblities are endless!!

Hmm... Dvd2xbox patches the games for "original cd checking" and i cant see why he should have 2 game rippers?

Its nothing like "hey im better than you", but won´t this just confuse him?

Hey, I don't want to contradict you, but I think most people find DVD2Xbox much better than PxHDDLoader because:

1) It's seen a number of very big improvements recently (whereas HDDLoader hasn't been touched sice Dec of 2003)

2) The game folder naming conventions of HDDLoader are ridiculous. Do we really need 20 no-name sequentially numbered game folders with no distinguishable names...?

If you dig it, cool. But, I just wanted to compare, so the OP gets all his info straight. smile.gif

To be honest with you, i didn't realise that DVD2XBOX did games as well. ohmy.gif (i feel like such a noob!)
Now i know, i'll use it for now on.
Sorry 'bout that, scrap HDDLoader, its not a patch on DVD2XBOX.

hey haz8989 what is UIX and were can i get it if it is somthing for the xbox thanks
haz8989
I think you can get it off the IRC channel they have. got to www.teamuix.com to find out more about that.
But you can also get it off xbins. Its easy to find, and i think it is the best dash by far.
It looks a lot like the m$ dash but does a lot more things and is very easy to use, but hard to mod (there are heaps of people in the UIX code forum how know what they're talking bout tho). I have it running off evox at the moment. Evox makes it easy to launch apps and dash's, if you haven't already done that , you might think about that too.

alright thanks
