Ok after reading many threads and "how to" tutorials, I'm finally ready to softmod my virgin box. I'm planning to use an installer (Blackwar's) as it seems the easiest way to go...so much time spent on reading many tutorials, started to make information fuzzy in my head. I want to keep my original HD untouched and replace it with a 160 GB (verified its lockable) I read tutorials on how to upgrade to a bigger drive, but most have started out after the original has been softmodded. Is there a way to upgrade the hard drive first then use the installer to softmod? If so, can someone point out a tutorial for it. If not..i guess i have no choice and mess with the orignal hd before i do the hd upgrade. Thanks!!

You need your xbox's eeprom, this is the reasoning behind modding your stock first, to obtain the eeprom, then restore stock to orignal, and mod the 160 and lokc with the eeprom.

My advice: Don't fuck up.


But seriously, back up that EEPROM and if you are not using a floppy disk, WRITE DOWN THAT PASSWORD!!! TRIPLE CHECK IT.
