I read, I can't remember where, that the hard drive is unlocked while there is a game running in the drive. Well I've tried hotswapping, and I can never seem to get the timing down right. So, can I just put Halo in, and then when it's at the screen that says "Press Start" just hotswap there? Will that work? Thanks for any help.

Search for a hotswapping tut. There are other ways to unlock your hd, like unplugging your dvd drive ide cable to get an error 12 or 13 (no completely sure, i dont hotswap) and when it boots to the error message, your hd is unlocked at that time.

I read DaddyJ's tut and never saw that mentioned, so I have read up on hotswapping, I just never read that idea before, but thanks for your help.

I tried unplugging the dvd drive, but now it never even goes to the error screen. I just get a steady green light. But I just now thought, that maybe the IDE cable to the hdd was too loose. Would that cause it to be a steady green light?
