Sorry if this has been asked already, but it's a hard topic to search for. Anyways...so we all know that MAME ports to the Xbox have hit a brickwall since v.84 because of an drastic input change problem. But here's the $6.50 question: once (if ever) the ports are updated to a current version, would it be easier to continue to update from that point on? i.e. was the drastic change issue a one time thing or does it happen very consistently?

Once updated, future updates should be more easy so long as there is not another big change.
