I'm planing on, during my spring break, work on a new case for my XBox. I got the idea when I was looking through a thread, and saw a guys avatar and I thought, "that looks like one pimp xbox" and decided to make a model for one in 3d Stucio Max, and so I did, and here it is. The thing is, I don't remember who the guy was and I can't seem to find it now. IT was silver and green, if that helps.

I plan on making the "basic" shape out of plexyglass, then use Bondo to finish up, then paint it to my liking, with some sort of red theme. I'm looking for suggestions about placing of the items ( i have the spot for the stuff inside, mostly) and then would like to know what kind of red theme would go with this.
Thanks

Yes, as it's bigger than the xbox...but not TOO big
I'm also looking for some suggestions, more than the "that'll look cool if you can do it" crap

Yes, those are the ports.
I may make it clear, as I said I don't know about the color scheme. and they are jewels, only they will be custom.

your gonna have to scale that thing
to fit the motherboard and fans
and since those are sqaure this is gonna be one difficult project
but good luck

I won't have to scale anything, the mobo will fit inside with the corners pointing left, up down and right.
Tha fans will sit inside and holes(grill) will be on the outside.

I will be using the HDD mounting tray thingy from an old PC, and will build everything custom else that I need.

I think the red/silver/black theme would look real good...also on top maybe make the large xbox circle smaller and cut two x's in the triangle area with plexi underneath...neat looking project..good luck

It just looks tall there, but in real life Its just a little over the real case.
It's a 14x14x4.5 ( i think) box thingy.

This is cool. Do you plan to put an x3 lcd or a hip pad or anything of that sort? Maybe have more than one hdd in there if its big enough. And what about the dvd bezel, do you plan to make a custom one?

I planed on using a Laptop LCD, but it won't work, so I may end up getting one of the screens from an xbox, gamecube, or PS2 screen thingys.

if you paint it, leave some parts clear. like a pattern to see the board inside. that'd look pretty cool. and go w/ silver and black w/ red highlights / details. my .02

Well, I'm rearranging the plugs on the back, and putting the power above the two others.
The thing about a window, is Plexiglass scratches easily, and the PSU is above the mobo, which defeats part of that thing, and then I would only put it above the dvd, which I may do.
I plan on using silver, some black, and then a metallic red.
