My brother called me today saying his XBox blew out. Made a large pop-bang sound and started pouring out smoke. I realize that this has to do with the cord replacement. He happend to be using his old cord at the time though. He unplugged it shortly thereafter. Is the Xbox beyond repair? And since he was using an old cable I wonder if there is any kind of replacement/fix M$ would do even though it's not under warranty anymore.

Thanks.

MS is gay.

had he opened and modded messed with the PSU. I would tell him to tell contact MS about it. I would aslo send a PM to HSDemonz telling him about.

i think your S.O.L buddy unsure.gif , sounds like a burn out on the board, but i dont know. If it is, get the hard drive out and see if its still useable.

The XBOX should be completley intact (unmodded and never opened)

definetly PM HSDEMONZ about it. I think he wants to know when stuff like this happens.

you prolly blew out the psu but contact them befor opening the box. if it's under warranty then it's their fault and you should contact microshit about theyre faulty product

Uhoh! Time to get a new PSU! Better to install it yourself then get Microdick to, it'd cost over 2x more if Microdick did it.

Just want to point out that the replacement cords don't prevent any mishaps.. They just kill the power to the unit after it gets destroyed in an attempt to not burn the house down..

Microdick fucked you over

if the xbox is unopened and unmodded. I would contact MS regardless if the warranty is up. Considering there is a known problem with the powercord(really most likely just foxlink PSU's). You may be able to get them to fix the xbox for free with enough pushing. Call and be reasonable until they completely refuse to fix it, or ask you to pay. Then inform them about the recall on the cords and that this seems like its related and then start bitching at them till they fix it. They probally will if its never been opened
