Ok, I have a Maxtor 120 gb hard drive that I've been using in my xbox v 1.4 for the last several months. About last week, it just stopped working, and would freeze at the logo screen. My xbox would work fine if i was just using it with the modchip turned off, but otherwise it would appear to be frozen. Well, I left it on while trying to figure this problem out, and it seems that it does work...just very very slowly. It takes about 2 hours to load my dashboard, and about 15-20 min to go up or down one on any menu or to select something. I was told i should reformat my hd, but it was locked, so i booted into dos, used atapwd to unlock and disable locking on my hard drive and reformatted it. Once i stuck the drive back into my xbox, i started getting the same problem even though i performed a complete formatting. I can't even really begin to load a new dashboard on. I'm using an Xecuter 2.3b lite+ chip. Can anybody offer any help?
