I think he is basically selling acceptable XBOX Serial Numbers and MFG dates so that you can place the order yourself with his provided data.
Therefore, it is not that shady since he is selling his codes so that you can get your cord; and serial numbers with MFG dates are not free.

But if someone wants a replacement cord... they would have to have an xbox... and if you have an xbox then you have the serial# and mfg.

Not necessarily since some people take the remove the bottom stickers of some used systems sometimes. Also, only XBOXs with old MFG dates are eligible for the offer and someone with a new system may be looking for a cord.

Granted... but... if you have a newer box, then you don't need a replacement.

This was exactly what I expected the next comment to be.
However, the good answer is that there are more uses to the cords besides preventing a fire.
People with newer systems will also need a replacement cord if they lost the one in their systems.

Well... let's not get into an if this, then that, conversation ... I'm not gonna get into making fun of someone that loses a power cord (you can use any standard ac power cord anyways).

And there are other free ways to get the serial# and mfg date... for instance go to a pawn shop find an xbox, and write down what that one says. Just make sure that it's at least v1.4 cause i know they won't replace 1.4's since i tried.

Maybe it's because I'm from good 'ole Kentucky, but if you go into local pawn shops, looking at their stuff and writing things down, they'll most likely feel threatened and shoot you on site....lol.

Yes, there are many ways to get one but not all people have other standard ac cords laying around or pawn shops nearby (most pawn shops wouldn't let you look at the specific data if aware too).
However as a conclusion, I am just saying this is a legitimate sale since it is similar to selling eeproms or xlive codes.

Yes, plus I just tried to Legitimize his sale and avoid him some trouble.
This is a good service to offer for some people that have more than 20 systems laying around and only 5 shipping addresses like me since MS only ships 3 units per household. Therefore, this way people can use the codes they have for someone else's needs.
