I have a broken Samsung SD-605 DVD drive that I purchased from a previous owner. Well, after messing with it forever, I cannot get it to work at all. Here is what the drive does:
1) Xbox powers up and recognizes drive, goes to MS dashboard
2) I push Eject and insert disc
3) Front LEDs flash green for awhile then go to a solid green, disc is not recognized

I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS, SO IT MAY BE AN EASY FIX. SAMSUNG WILL BE SOLD AS IS, NO RETURNS IF YOU CAN'T GET IT TO WORK.

I am looking for in return a Thompson or Phillips DVD Drive that can atleast read Xbox Discs like Halo 2

P.S. I may even take a Dirty Disc Error drive if I get desperate, atleast I know how to fix those...

how bout you throw in some extra money? who would trade something that won't work, for something that does?

your samsung needs a new laser i buy them from a guy on ebay for $18.50 each let me know if you want the link

I saw the lasers on ebay, that's why I thought someone would trade because it is a cheap fix, I just dont have the extra money to be spending right now.
