The x2vga+ has just makes it more compatible with a wider range of versions of xbox. The x2vga produces a superior picture then the x2vga plus, but only works with xbox's with the conexant chip (versions 1-4). The newest version of the x2vga+ is quite good though, and the picture is almost as good as the original x2vga.

If you have one of the older xboxs, then by all means get it.

The X2VGA has composite video and digital audio outputs, for if you wanted to connect your xbox to a TV also. (This also comes in handy if you use a Video Capture device of some sort and want to still be able to connect it to your xbox wiith your xbox connected to your monitor.

The X2VGA+ has an audio and vga input, along with an audio and vga output.
This is so you can connect your pc and audio from your pc to the X2VGA+ and then connect the X2VGA+ to your monitor and sound setup. You can then by the press of a button on the X2VGA+, switch between your Xbox and your PC using your sound and monitor.

If you want more details, just look at their manuals.

So if you don't have a video card, or have no reason to need composite video output with your xbox already connected to your montior. Then buy the X2VGA+.

Have you found a place to purchase the original X2VGA? The only place I have found is EBay on occasion, but the bids get up to $60-70.

I've got a question.

I have a X2VGA+ and I am gonna get a Apple 30in cinema display for my G5 in the next couple weeks, and I wanted to know if I could use the X2VGA on the Apple Display? (getting a ADVI to VGA Adaptor of course)

i'd assume you could use it on an apple display, if the adapter just turns to vga analog signals into DVI

by the way thanks for some of the help, now i need to find out the version of my xbox, i definitely think its at least a v2
