Have recently finisched my long wanted mod on the xbox remote control.

The bright Green 5mm leds in the front...DAMN they are bright...Lighting up the living room easily! Like a flashlight

The placement of the switch for the Flashlight wink.gif

I wired ALL leds in parallell, the green to negative and to switch thats positive, the blue to negative and to switch thats under the controller thats positive.

Did a little drilling and cutting inside the controller so the light could reach all the buttons, especially for the number buttons.

Thats about it, oohhh also had a bunch of 10 Swedish Öre that isn't useable anymore (they are small so fit well in the litte remote) so I glued some in there to just to get the real feeling...
I glued all leds with glue gun. Not complicated but alot of soldering and VERY tight in there so it took some time getting it together biggrin.gif

Hope you enjoy, sorry for not posting any pictures of the inside, does not have any and I'm NOT going to open that damn thing again....EVER!

Happy to answer questions and thoughts... //Varsa

Well I really don't know about the batteries, they are probably going to be empty soon wink.gif but the thing is that the leds only light up when you want them to...I'm not going to use the flashlight so often and not the button glow either, just when I really need them.
Actually isn't the most mods just for show?

Thats awesome. The TV I have has a similar thingy in it. Press a button on the side and some of the buttons light up with a yellow glow. I want to change it to blue but I'm not shure how to wire SMT LEDs.

Not really a pain but lot of glue gun and thinking of how to do so it takes as little space as posible with the wires and glue, also switches. And those f*cking clips that hold it together is so HARD but you'll thank them laiter.
Something you really have to think about is how small space there is in there when you close it cause if you don't the switches or something else will make that you can't close it.

It is posible just wire a transistor or something to the IR led and your done... It should work, anyone know more about this. I thought about doing it but wanted to have separate switch...(Ofcourse you can have a switch to, but the space is limited :S)
