These guys at the MODSHOP in Perth Western Australia told me that they put a mod chip in my box, when all they really did was a tsop flash, then had the nerve to tell me that I could play xbox live with it. They ripped me off $100 bucks, but when i realized it was to late. Now there selling cyclops cheapmods at $150 these guys have some nerve. Anyways just a warning to you all in W.A. Australia.

I ordered 3 chips from them and they charged $300.00 and when they had no stock
they said they would send two replacements of a newer mod and when the package finally cam ---3 months later- there was only 1 chip inside the package.

The laws in Western Australia regarding modchips is pretty relax . Theres no law saying you cant put a modchip in any console without getting in trouble. I think there was a court case involving sony australia in the federal courts and sony lost. So I wouldnt worry about being shat on. I guess thats part of the reason that we get these guys selling homebrew chips with xecuter bios and advertsing that its an xecuter chip and sell the homebrews at the same price.

Cool, it looks like I will be in bussiness when I get back to Australia. I cant believe no one uses the matrix chip back in Aus. I have had mine since NOV and I love it.

no they are legal.... i got a modchip the cyclops2 (cheapmod piece of shit2) and they told me it was an xecuter2 when its just a cheapmod with xecuter2 bios that i cant upgrade... i paid $70 for it they charge $130 with software, i also did the hard drive upgrade myself as they charge $100... i dont want this shit mod chip anymore i want a matrix or xecuter2 pro, can anyone in perth help me out? can i rip the old mod out and put the new better one in or will that make my hard drive go crazy? i also want a switch installed for Xbox live and i am looking for a spare case or at least spare top... (i want alot dont i ) for some case modding and for placing switches on etc..... please i will even buy a dead box just for the case

Anyways I have an ozxchip in my box with a switch and running evox D6 blue bios. Installed it myself and everything went well. I paid $60 for it shipped from the eastern states which I think is not bad considering people selling homebrews for anything from $70 to $130. And as for Xecuter chips they are a down right rip off ranging form $110 to $180 uninstalled. Just because there arent any regulations controlling these scam artists they do as they please. So if your going to get any mod done in Western Australia ASK HEAPS OF QUESTIONS AND KEEP NAGGING TILL THEY GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT. Otherwise keep shopping around till you find an honest enough person.

You should be able to flash your bios if its the cyclops, as it is just a hombrew chip after all. Have a look in the tutorials section for ways to flash homebrew chips. Also you should even be able to install a switch which you can find the how to in the same place.

There are guys im Melbourne that advertise mod chips then all they do is flash the onboard TSOP also..

There is nothing wrong with cheapmds..You can upgrade the bios very easily with evox or find someone with a eeprom programmer to upgrade it for you it only takes 5 mins.. and they are cheap around $30..for a good quality one in a socket..

how do u flash it with evo-x? i thought u had to re solder shit on it.... i got to flash and it says press y to flash then says erasing i wait a couple mins and nothing has happened?

my cheapmod flashed just fine using evox... mabey the way the chip is soldered is different???

You only have to solder the points if you want to flash the on board tsop no if you want to flash the cheapmod..

yeah i wanted to flash the actual cheap mod if it can be done to the new Xecuter bios so i dont have to patch games

Go to OZXCHIP.com and they have a program that lets you flash most homebrews with a cd. All you do is get the program burn onto a cd or dvd whichever works in your box then make an iso with a dummy file to fill up the cd and use that to flash your cheapmod no programmers needed unless you have a bad flash. Go over to their web site they have the programs an tutorials on howto. Hope this helps.

OzXChip also sells the OzXProg 2 which is capable of flashing cheapmods.

I have used the ozxchip software to program some cheapmods and it works good..Just a little slow..
Follow the directions in the text file and you can't go wrong

i got my modchip in perth for $60 ozxchip. it was a really good guy up in padbury. if you want a modchip go to him. he even gave me a lift home!

TO CLEAR THINGS UP FOR PEOPLE:

Scamming is not overly prevalent in Western Australia. However ignorance IS EXTREMELY PREVELANT OVER HERE.

I live in Perth Western Australia and have imported quite a few X2.0 Pro's, X2 Lites and Magic 3.1's all original, no clones or fakes or homebrew sh*t.

Now When I read the quokka or the saturday/sunday times all I see is big modshop ads and a couple of other advertisements, advertising modchips for like $20 AUS.
Now if the people here were not so CHEAPO trying to get the cheapest thing they can, they wont get ripped off.

How 99% of the mod shops in perth work.
Charge 10$ for modchip and $150 for installation for a crappy ass chip if ur lucky to even get one.

Now I advertised everywhere, but I gave true prices and explained to people all they needed to know, yet, people being the way they are, still fell for the lovely scam by the modshop obviously because they thought they were getting an amazing deal.

Ive had to fix numerous xboxes because of the companies around here.

Basically i bought a whole heap of Pro's and magic 3,1's for PS2.

I found this out when trying to sell them my modchips, as they told me they stocked X2 Pro's

SO I said, "oh okay, well i bet you i can beat any price you offer"
So they said "Theres no way you can, we get them for $12 AUD"
And I pretty much just look at the guy, tell him hes a f**king liar and to stop lieing to people selling them unstable crappy modchips at ripoff prices and walked out of there.

Anyways... guys give me a call and you will see what you get, and what you get is authentic, i even got the boxes the modchips came in with US postal addies all over it.

And even if I run out, I can hook you up with reliable contacts that I have made in my time.
