never go cheap when it comes to a motherboard. I recommend the Asus A7N8X motherboard. it has a shit load of features. Includes the new Nvidia Chipset. go to www.newegg.com for the best price.

Your options are many.....
AMD or Pentium
266/333/400?
^^same thing for ram^^
onboard sound
onboard lan
onboard this
onboard that
overclocking
Raid

I have the MSI KT 333 and the Asus A7N8X delux both were the best at different times....

Are you ONLY upgrading your Mobo? What ram do you have? Upgrading a mobo can be useless if you have a slow processor and ram

If you are doing a full "budget" upgrade I would suggest
MSI KT3
AMD xp2100
Samsung pc2700

Dunno how much you're looking to spend and I don't know what processor you want or whether you want SD or DDR RAM and what speed.

I love my Gigabyte GAV7XP; it's got RAID, supports DDR333, AMD processors, AGP x8, 5 PCI slots, onboard NIC, USB 2, Firewire.
I paid about £84 for mine, should be cheaper in the US.

LA!

Hope that helps a bit.

BYEEEEE!!
