ok, Ill try to keep this simple as i may go out of my mind. I renamed evoxdash.xbe in c: to avalaunch.xbe now my xbox boots the normal ms dash and nothing i can do will fix it. All I can do is try slayers and also seeing the hard drive with a pc but i cant get it fixed, pease has anyone any ideas.

make a evox boot cd, then ftp and correct your mistake.

sorry to be a dufus but how would one go about doing that? I think I can use Nero to make a boot cd with, but what should go on it? Thanks.

Any evox will do,edit the evox.ini first for static ip if needed.Create xbox iso with it or use nero to straightaway burn it.

Ok undertsood and doesnt work, any other suggestions, I have tried multiple versions of slayers making little changes as well as making various boot discs. Nothing seems to work, please someone help.

Ok im going to try plugging the old retail drive into the xbox and the broken drive into my PC see if I can rename the file that way. Thing is the more I try the more Im convinced something else has gone wrong.

thats pretty much the best way of going about this. A guide
here should help you.
another thing you could do is make a boot disk with boXplorer on it then simply rename the xbe file.

Boot dsics arent working, just tells me i have a dirty, damaged or dodgy disc. I have re-insatlled the retail harddrive which has evox on it, and it wont take any of the boot discs either, says they are unkown, although I can explore the disc in media centre, I just dont know, it should work....but doesnt.

can you boot original games? it may be your drive.
I only say this cause you are having the same issue with your old HDD

yeah plays both original and backups of games
