Hey, I just used Softmod.Installer.Deluxe.v2.0 for the first time with a memory card (actually a PSP and a duck-taped usb/controller cable), and it worked great. I used it on a v1.6 xbox. I just wanted to know if the exploit that it installs with the "Install Softmod" is compatible with all versions of xboxes. I assume it's the UDE? or the UXE?

I sortof like doing things myself so I know exactly what it does... but... it was so simple.

it should work fine on all versions. It installs uxe with pbl metoo/m8 if i recall correctly

which is kinda outdated.

if you want your setup to be foolproof (well pretty damn close to it) you want an nkpatcher setup.

I was also wondering if it was possible to boot burned software from within the exploit menu. It's got a "Launch DVD" option, but when I hit the eject button the xbox reboots. It'd be nice to use if I didn't want to actually install the softmod... just do a one time boot of a game or something.

not possible. That option shouldn't even have to be in there. Well.... I'll stop flaming that deluxe installer crap. I'm getting too tired of it.

Not possible? you couldn't load a new bios after it runs or something. It'd be nice to use the exploit just once in a while to run a burned disc or to get an EEPROM or something. I wonder what the easiest way to do that would be...

you can't eject the tray via a savegame exploit. it's a technical impossibility. as for getting the eeprom...it doesn't have the backup feature? is it based on unleashx? that can't backup the eeprom yet.
