Hello Everyone,
I am a newbie who has just started doing some minor mods to my xbox. I am just looking to mod my original Green Xbox jewel to a original look alike Black version of the Green stock version. I want the jewel to be black instead of green and still have the stock xbox chrome logo.
Anyone who has one, please help. If you don't, where can I get one for a reasonable price. Help a newbie out.
I am looking to black my entire xbox out. Simple and clean look.

thats the ones he sales, 15 dollars shipped, you could also buy a green one fom him and clear it, then spray the back of it black, but if you want an original one buy his.

Thats so beautiful! I can picture it on my xbox. Its going to look really nice.
Anyone got pics of one of this black one on? I can't wait to do such a simple mod.
Can someone give me a basic step by step on how to replace the Green Jewel with the above Black Jewel. I have no clue how to do it. Is it easy to do?

Sure, I am in a good mood today. LOL. Anyway, pop your xbox top into the freezer for about 20 minutes. Then take it out and hit the bottom of the jewel with the back of a screw driver, malet, etc. It should fall right off. THen peel the sticky backing off of the black one and stick it on, that's it!
Here is a picture of my Halo LE xbox with the same jewel, but I also did a jewel LED mod.

I bought an LE jewel from explosive2... very fast shipper and the jewel was in perfect shape. I'd definitely recommend going to him for your Black LE jewel needs - $15 shipped is pretty dang cheap!

Geez, I feel dumb.
I only see two screws to undo from the bottom to take off the top. What other bolts, screws do I need to remove in order to remove the top? Thanks

Under each of the rubber feat on the bottom there are 1 under each. Then rub your finger across the stickers to find the other to then just get those out..So a total of 6 screws.

omfg,
I did the freezer thing and actually tried to hit the dam jewel off but no luck. I am not getting any progress on this thing. Please let me know. Arggghhhhh Any easy way to get it off? I placed in the freezer for 30 min. Took it out and tried the mallet action. Should I take off the metal undersiding too? I didn't want to bang it too hard. Let me know what I can also do. GRRRRRrrr

yeah, probably better to take this to a forum for case modders ... (if you dont like banging on the case, take the metal shielding off, run a hair drier VERY close to the case so that its heating the bottom of the jewel... do this for a few minutes... then use a thin butter knife to slip under the jewel from the front and gently pry it off.. it'll come right off that way too)

I never had any luck putting the top in the freezer but using a hair dryer has worked every time for me.

The freezer is pure garbage! OMFG, I tried so many times. The hair dryer action is where its at. Thanks guys for the input and everything is now running smooth. YEah this thread went from wanting to buy a black jewetl to actually doing it myself. Thanks everyone. You guys saved me a few bucks.
