My v1.4 xbox flashed with a Evox m8 bios is being very picky as to what it wants to read. At the moment its not reading any backed-up disk ive tried. I know they work on a v1.6 xbox with a Evox m8_plus bios.

As there are soo many types of dvd+r/w on the market which do you recomend i use? as i could be here for a month of sundays trying to find the right media.

If the box is a Samsung DVD drive one it will not play +R discs unless the booktype is set to DVD-ROM when burning.
Try DVD-R
