Maybe this is a very stupid question, but why isn't there a site to download compiled versions of XBMP.
because i'm willing and able to make a site that is uptodate with the latest version.
are there some laws about it that make it impossible ?
or are those laws only for the US?

Because if you have the xbe that means it was compiled with an illegally obtained XDK. Hence. Illegal.
Support OPENXDK.

oké that explanes alot tnx.
but is there a high sentence on it, or is it just somebody telling you :" hey Young man don't do that again "
because that i can take
and is there alot of inspection?

How much inspection there is ?
Let's try,
you'll post your full name and address here with information off all illegal/pirated software you have and let's see how much inspection there is.
And laws ... each country has different laws

Hmm could be worth a try
but the reactions you people gave must be some sort of hint that somone else already tried it and get his ass kicked by Bill.
it's just that is so much work to get reliable software,
and if some freak is looking for childpron he only has to click twice and he's there.
I personly think that that is worse than a piece of software that doesn't do any harm.
aarg i'm going to stop thinking about it i'm getting all frustrated

Oh ye poor people that haven't gone on #xbins recently

I agree. Go to www.xbins.org. I don't think that is illegal.

Download mIRC, and go to #Xbins on EFNet. They have a FTP that has "ALL" the compiled builds of XBMP CVS. GoodLuck.

In summary: They do exist! They are just hard to find since it is ILLEGAL to make available in most countries.
How much fun would it be if all this just fell in our laps! Looking is part of the fun

I agree with the fact that's kind of special to search for it but a normal site would much easier
but any way i don't have much problem finding them but there are people who do.
and for them it would de cool if there were a site.

I would just like more information on each day's new build. Like why and what's so different that they have to do a new build everyday. I only update when something major has been done/fixed (or something small I've been waiting for) and I have to watch for information here then be uncertian when I get the new build since there is no clear explanation. Anyway. . .

um...so what are we saying here? I downloaded a zip file that blew up into 38Mb of Xbmp files. I was going to install it tonight. Since there is no .xbe file in ANY of those folders, am I to believe it's not executable?

sounds like a non-compiled version (like what you find at sourceforge).
You need a compiled version with the XBE in it.
Look in the usual places.

there's an update readme file (4-2-2003_CVS_README.TXT) with each new release in the same place you get the zip file.

And usually lots of BUGs. This is true beta, and you are really signing up as beta testers. Respect that and report bugs, on the XBMP site, and be greatfult. This is wonderful software.
