Hi all.
I'm getting ready to mod another Xbox. This time though I wana make sure I don't get screwed with a Thompson drive. I know some have figured out how to tell what kind of drive it has based off of the SKU or something. So how can I tell? I'd rather get a Phillips or Samsung drive.

if you buy a NEW xbox from a store like best buy or something, im 99.9% sure you will not get a thompson drive

I believe the MFG after 10-24-04 will be a Phillips. At least thats what I heard here in the US. I could be wrong.
