hi all

i have modded a samsung 616f drive to work on the xbox. I followed a tutorial on xbox scene and it all seemed to be working properly (it ejected when button was pressed and no errors came up)

my problem is that when you eject the drive and put a disc in, the drive closes and the laser & spindle rise up to catch the disc and spin it. But the laser & spindle/motor doesnt move up high enough to lift the disc, in other words, the motor and laser are to low down to spin the disc and read it..

could this be a bios problem or a hardware problem

I'd check to make sure there isn't a stray wire or foreign object blocking the mechanism.

is it a new drive? if not it may need cleaning & posiibly a new belt! modding a a new 616e would have been better. see tut on xbox100.com
