QEMO Windows 98 Display Fix!

UPDATE: Wow i suck at posting! I messed up the title, Its suppose to say "Display any Color or Resolution"
UPDATE: Some Titles of the windows in the picutures aren't accurate so don't worry if your window looks a lil different.

This is a really basic tutorial for all the people that are stuck at 16 color @ 640 by 480.

STEP 1: Right click your desktop and click properties, this will bring you to Display Properties(if not click the settings tab). Now click the Advanced button.






STEP 2: It will bring you to "Cirrus Logic 5446 PCI Properties". Click the Adapter Tab, then click the Change button. Click next, select "Display a list of all..." and then click next again.






STEP 3: You should now be in the "Update Device Driver Wizard". Select "Show all Hardware". Under Cirrus as the manufacturer, select Cirrus Logic as the model.






STEP 4: Windows should threaten you with a "Update Driver Warning" window, just click Yes. Then click next, it will copy some files and after that click finish. You should now be at "Cirrus Logic Properties". Click the Performance Tab, bring the Slider to none( If you don't, all text will be scrambled and unreadable upon reboot plus there is no performance loss becuase there is no Hardware acceleration in the first place to begin with). Then click OK.

SETP 5: Now comes the fun part, select what you want. I haven't tested everything but i know 800 by 600 16-Bit, 32-Bit works. When you are done with your chioces, click Apply. It will ask you to restart but click no becuase it will do a fake restart and stall. Just go to start, Shutdown and click restart from there.



I sometimes get window protection errors after a restart, so if you encounter one just close QEMO and try again. If you get the safe mode option, just ignore that and go to normal.

ah!!! so thats why i kept getting screwed up gfx after a reboot! great tutorial dude, really helped alot.

Where's the beef, I mean fix?

Just go to the settings tab and set the resoultion
to what yo want with 98lite running on the xbox.

Depends on the size of your tv.

The most ican get on my 32 inch is 640 by 480
at 24 bit true colour.....any bigger and i lose the
icons!

The sound (fix) is not working for me.

Can you load windows 98 lite in the same manner ?? ( the one that has all the IE shit disabled and is 10 tmes faster ) ???

WTF how did i get in this thread seriously .... oh well maybe you guys can anwer my question .

I don't know how old this topic is or if this is considered a bump but this is one of the tutorials I've needed and have been looking for hours on hand. I would personally like to say that this tutorial covered everything I needed and now I can play some LAN games ! Thanks Salvage, for giving me the knowledge I've needed to know since a week ago
