installed my xecuter 2.3b in one of my boxs.

I have put it in with the pinheader method. Everything looks good the 2 blue leds on the chip light up and the external one goes green when enabled and red when disabled. When the chip is enabled my eject blinks green/red is this normal. When I turn it on in the enabled nothing comes on the screen. Also I noticed that everytime I go from enabled to disabled I have to reset the dang clock.

Now come the questions

1. Now I think my next step is to install the dash right? I have slayer's 2.6 do I just throw that into the drive or should I network first?

2. Where should my switches be set to to load the dash. protected or unprotected? Enabled or disabled? Bank 1 or Bank 2. If I'm not mistaken my chip was purchased about a year ago and it came pre-flashed from modchip.ca

Can anyone help me out?

Is it normal my eject blinks green/red when chip is enabled? I get noyhing on the screen

It reboots 3 times then it just blinks.

Tried loading the dash but it doesn't boot to anythhing

What version of xbox do you have? Also, does it restart twice then flash green and red? Does the tray automatically eject?

EDIT: What is the version of the xbox?...that is what I need to know to help.

I don't know where to start.
You sound like a person who bought a chip and did not do any reading.
If you READ and SEARCH in the tutorials and forums all your Q's will be
answered.

your eject should be green when you start your xbox, enabled or disabled.

Oh and the basic questions.
What ver is your xbox?
If its a 1.6(cool.gif did you do the lpc rebuild?

If it is a v1.6, then he is going to have to pre-flash the x2.3 before he installs it, as I don't thing that he has a compatible cromwell flashbios on the chip.

Yes I have read. Just can't seem to find the answers to my questions

I have a version 1.3

It restarts 3 times then the eject flashes green and red.
No it does not eject automatically.

Disabled it works fine but as soon as I enable it just flashes and it won't even let me eject the tray.

I have gone through the noob guide to everything and am at the part about loading the dash but for some reason it won't load slayers autoloader burnt on a cd-rw or a dvd-r

Have you flashed the bios?
What bios and version?
FallsInc
the problem here, is not bios, or xbox version. its the fact that the mod chip isnt installed correctly.. his xbox is fragging. open it up again, and resolder the lpc. the d0 is connected fine, dont mess with that.. pin 2 is also good. (next to the square one.)
oxjeremy334
Could be the bios if there was an old school bios on there, but I would say that unles he flashed it, then it is not installed correctly.

Thank you bro, you were completely right. This morning I opened it up again. didn't apply solder I just touched each pin with the iron and heated the solder a bit. Voila now I am looking at a Cromwell 2.28 flash bios screen. I guess they didn't flash the chip the way they said they were going to do when I purchased it.

More reading I guess. What are everyones recommendations, use an external programmer or a bios disc. Is 5028 recommended or should I flash something older?
