If the drive is bad and you can't access the files, then you'll have to download the dash files/folders or use an installer if you want the MS dash.

In the meantime;

Put in the new drive
Set the LBA48, either all F no G or F up to 137gb, G gets the rest
Then format new drive (be sure jumper is set Cable Select)
FTP other dashs (I use Avalaunch as my main dash and access MS or Evox from the "Dashboards" directory).
FTP apps.

reboot to dash and you are off and running.

In Config Live you can set Autolaunch Config Live=Disabled, that way you skip past CL to the dash. Press and hold the small white button when you see "Xecuter Rox My Box" to access CL again.

Should I remove the old Hdd and plug new one in there? If not where and how do I hook up the new Hdd with the old one still installed?

How can I ftp the dash?

once the chip is flashed it should boot to the x3 live cofigurations. From that menu it will tell you the ip and you can ftp into your xbox. Or download slayers it will do all the work for you.
