How do you determine if your xbit is faulty? I plugged the daughterboard (the xbit -> pc usb thingy), and the led didn't turn green. It just worked like an hour ago (right when I installed it), now the led doesn't come on at all, wheather my xbox is turned on or off.

make sure your computer doesn't go into sleep mode or is turned off. you probably have it on anyway so disregard this message.

I have had experiences (especially with Splinter Cell 3) where the chip will turn off in the middle of loading then the game will freeze.
