I have a 2.4 gig athlon and an nf-7 motherboard and a radeon 9000 128mb with 2x512 ram. I don't seem to have any problems even with my video card which gets errors in stress tests, lol. I can't see it being your video card and 2 gig processor should be enough for this game. I would say mabee if you havent formatted your hard drive in a while mabee try that. What it could very well be is your ram. 512mb is almost the least your can have for games comming out nowadays. What you could also do is try Memtest and see if you get any errors in your memory. I am just waiting for a 9700 AIW i bought off ebay to arrive and i am sure it will be a whole lot more fun killing online!!!

I'm not a PC gamer, but it definitely sounds like your CD-ROM or HDD (depends on where the game is loading from) is the weak (slow) point in your system.
The game is loading additional parts of the map when you get near the doors, which is affecting performance.
Try a faster optical drive or higher RPM hard drive, or start by defragging as the previous poster mentioned. Also consider running the game from a different physical hard drive than where your operating system is located.
