Total Air time: ~30 minutes
Commercials: ~12 minutes
Talking /music by band / XBOX 360 games in background : ~15 minutes
Direct-feed video: < 3 minutes!
Yes, you read correctly - My stopwatch says 2:48.13
Under THREE minutes of direct-feed video. That definitely wasn't worth pausing my game of Jade Empire for!

MTV sucks big ass hairy monkey balls. What a fucking waste of time. I think you needed to be on drugs or something to have gotten anything out of that crap. How can they consider this an unveiling of a system. They showed the box for about 45 seconds gave maybe a good 25 seconds of information and showed about 3 minutes of footage....The only good thing out of this for me is having a look at Ghost Recon3 which has awsome graphics. Way not impressed by Perfect Dark. Man I could have been playing Forza or something. What a waste of time. MS should have waited for E3 or done something MORE SERIOUS. I dont understand how people can be psyched up by this shitty 21 minute comercial. And this crap with pimping the xbox from the guys of west coast custums. How unimpressive. This kind of stuff has been going on for 2 years now...right here on XS. I sure wished they would have when more indepth, showed design decisions...I dont know anything....AHHHHH

what was with those 'pro gamers' god they seemd like the average ps2 mtv watching crowd to me. the one stupid kid that lost the game then tried to argue 'we are the better team' "but you lost" 'so we are the better team' "but they won that makes them the Better team" 'no.. *cut off'
what an idiot arguing his team is better after he just lost, reminds me of every other kid on Live that has the same argument when they loose a game too. the dumb blonde that had her mouth wide open while she played reminds me of gamers special olympics. then the hardcore thugg of the bunch ya hes keeping it real ghetto hardcore.
im dissapointed with the special, i expect it to be mtv style but that was bad even for mtv.

I caught that too.

They ripped him at the end about having the best team, but losing. Haha.
What was so bad about the thing? Yea it was chessy MTV, but we got to see the console and controller, plus several of the games. Perfect Dark looks really promising.

I'm glad I didn't waste my time watching it. I stopped watching MTV ever since they stopped playing music, which is about 10 years ago. I'll see the real display at E3 anyways, so nothing MTV would have shown would have been better than seeing it in person.

Well, the show was worth a laugh, although I feel a little brain dead after watching some ridiculous reality show that was on right before the special.

Thats why it should be RTV and not MTV.

i agree it was crap!
You would think xbox 360 people would have done a better 30 minute job on getting us excited about the xbox360 and not focus on a "KILLER" BAND (crying how jealous he is for seeing his girlfriend kiss another guy... and telling us it hurts...so bad) ... or people dancing and getting excited about having a "pretty girl" bring the xbox 360 to the stage... while everyone is saying "wow"... LIGHTS flashing!

I guess it is about getting "non-gamers" to be on the "cutting edge" of COOL!

Wow! Pretty THINGIE! Wow. Look! Wow! Let's get Lord of the Rings guy to remind people of the NEW GREEN start up RING to POWER ON the BOX!
Ok everyone! Jump! act excited...
MS PR ... come on guys ...
show us what the xbox 360 can do!
show us! Maybe some footage of actual games or "what the games will look like" useing Super-Computer" that can display the potential of xbox 360. I understand game development is down the road some... but ... FAKE it ... and PROMISE us that THIS is What it is about.
Have people useing CAMERA and talking via xbox 360.
Show spectators watching others play on xbox 360 ... one of the features 360 is suppose to have.
I guess I was expecting more ... so I was more disappointed than others that "understand the MTV" attention span!

Now that I have watched it, I am extreamly dissapointed with what was shown. They didn't even really show in game graphics for any of the games, just a bunch of little movies. And I love how they showed like the 50 prototypes of the Xbox 360 but showed it in about a 5 second time span. Thank God for XBMC so I can pause it and see what the hell they were showing.

If you post in these forums, you are hardcore. The Our Colony ARG and video were clearly aimed at us. The MTV show was clearly aimed at the public at large, namely young people with disposable income, who also are not big gamers.
Why can't people understand these simple concepts? Debating whether or not the show was effective at targeting that market, is far more worthy of discussion than the bitching I've heard over these last two days, from people that should know better. Ashlee Simpson is playing Xbox in her LaLa pop video, I don't give a damn! Its simply not aimed at me, but MS wants a slice of that market.
MTV was a tightly produced, cynical high-five to all the kids, we should not be lowering our standards here by even discussing it. Its already had more attention than it deserves. Roll on E3.
