Hi,
I have a friends xbox that has a Xenium chip in it, not sure what one but has OS version 2 on it. The games that have been on the hard drive for ages work fine. Everytime a new game is put on there it will not load, just goes to a black screen.
The games I have tried loading are Halo, Halo2 and Topspin. Im using DVD2XBOX to copy them on, I have changed to an older version of that to see if it makes any difference but it hasnt.

I put Halo on my xbox and it loaded straight away from the hd. I ftp'd it across to the other one (to eliminate the dvd drive) but the same problem occurs.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try the newest os 2.3, I've only ever had 1 prob with a Xenium over the past year in that 1day it recovered itself from root of E: and that was it! Maybe the new discs yr usin are dodgy (if backups) or the drive's had it, try yr optical drive in it and check it out

Update your bios. You are probably using an outdated one.

Cant be the dvd drive as i put one of the games on the xbox via ftp from my xbox.. still the same thing..

I'll let you know how i go after updating bios and OS. I also might try my hard drive in it just to rule that out aswell..

got it working.

updated the bios to X2 4983, and now all games work fine. I updated the XOS too to version 2.3
