My hdd broke, I have never opened my box.

I've red plenty of guides and so far i seen the need for a working xbox and chip mod to fix my broken xbox-hdd. Both of which I do not have.

And since i dont have a back up of my never opened xbox hdd, I d'ont have the lock/unlock codes.
it seems i have one choice, get a "Chip mod"...

My Question is, what are the important files that i need to find and place in a new Hdd? and the location they must be..

Is it even possible to fix it this way? {with chip mod}

if you use a autoinstaller you cna just use it to copy all necissary files to the new hdd

if you haven't opened it you might want to try returning it if you haven't owned it too long.

DUDE send it back DO NOT OPEN IT my friend opened his sent it in and they sent it back unfixed

It seems mod-chip isnt such a solution... these dont come flashed? so meaning i still wont be able to put in a blank hdd?

Can one flash a mod-chip with out an HDD installed? using just the xbox?

chips come preflashed with legal bios. if you can bootup to your modchip then you can reflash via http or AID. what exactly is broken? the hdd?

Yes the HDD is broken, everyting else seems to work.
Unless ur supposed to be able to play GameDVD with out the hard drive...

I guess Home-brew modchip is not possible also, and i would really need a pre flashed ones... or, a device to program one with pc... i just hate waiting for snail mail!

Well i hope getting one solve the problem, otherwise ill go find Mr. B.G. and hit him in the head with his faulty xbox which, he wont let me fix!
