is there any way to remove the file name limt.
cuz most of the stuff i download via ftp if exceeding the limit and as i am trying to using
xbox ftp client its causing me problem.

No you cant remove it, either get a file renamer for the pc and rename them before you transfer, or some programs on the xbox will automaticly make the size fit. I believe XBMC will auto rename the files to fit.

whenever i upload to the xbox and its running xbmc the error comes. then i have to rename it.
is there some way xbmc could download directly from the ftp.
like an ftp client.

It may just be your XBMC version.... i transfered stuff just fine and it renamed them automaticly for me. Im using the one released 5/22/05 i believe.

So any build after that should have auto-renaming...

its not an ftp server limit, its a xbox limit.

Unleashx will rename them for for you as well.

My unleash X doesnt and ive got the latest one installed :/

In My Experience with XBMC - it renames the files, but NOT THE FOLDERS.

No Idea why, but last night when I was FTP-ing to the 'box I had to take everything out of the folders. No Major.

With SmartFTP is looks as if it just copies the files, but if you refresh you see that the names have actually been changed.
